Story
On the 26th of June 2017 our dear family friend Damian Pullen passed away from an undetected heart defect called Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This sudden parting came as a shock to us all, but Damian will always be missed, especially for his fun-loving nature and laughter.
The British Heart Foundation funds extensive research into a range of heart and circulatory diseases. At the moment, studies are being carried out to find better ways of diagnosing the condition Damian had, to understand who is most at risk and find treatments to ultimately prevent it.
I hope by running the Royal Parks half marathon in October I will be able to raise awareness of this silent condition which could happen to anyone at any-time without warning. Also, I hope to gain some donations to raise money in order to help fund this amazing research which could save lives and stop loved ones being taken away too soon. I want to help in any way I can and urge you to do the same as, sadly, we cannot change what has happened, but we can do our part to help others in the future.
Damian, we all miss you.
Sending my love to Damian’s family and friends.
