Story
OK... So I never thought I would be saying this but here it goes...I AM DOING THE GREAT NORTH RUN 2013!!!!!! and here is why...
I unexpectedly lost my dear gramps, last May, after a short battle with cancer. He was the heart and soul of the 'McLean Family Clan' and everything that you would expect a true gentleman to be. Last year became a bit of a blur after losing him and somewhere along the line I must have thought it would be a good idea to put my name down for the run (not thinking I would get a place!) So - here I am now, a year on and keener than ever to raise funds for the ICCU Unit at The Freeman Hospital where my gramps was a patient in his last few days. I would like to do it as a thank you for the care he received and so that they can continue to care for others as they did for him. I am not expecting this to be easy, it is without a doubt going to be the most challenging thing I've ever done in my life...so please, please just give whatever you can because I know that every penny I raise will motivate me every step of the gruelling way.
Thank you.
Sophie
