Story
Thank you for visiting our just giving page.
My sister (Liv) and I, are going to be taking part in the 540ft Broadgate Tower abseil in London on 15th September, in memory of our Grannie and Poppa, Pamela and Dennis Scott.
The Princess Alice Hospice provided our Grannie with outstanding care, which enabled her to spend her last weeks in her own home before she passed away in July 2018.
Sadly our Poppa has not been with us for many years, however we learnt through our interactions with the Princess Alice Trust that he was one of the founding members and benefactors when the trust was first set up. So a charity also close to his heart.
I often think that hospices are among our unsung hero’s, and can sometimes be overlooked as quite understandably, we tend to focus on the diseases that cause our loved ones to be unwell.
We have had first hand experience of the incredible work they do to make the last weeks and months a more bearable experience for all involved. As well as our experience with the Princess Alice Hospice, our mum Sheila, spent much of her nursing career as a palliative care nurse working in hospices and within the community.
We would be very grateful for any donations for this wonderful charity, to continue helping families through some of the toughest times.
Thank you,
Sophie and Liv
P.S. if our Grannie were around to see us doing this she would be horrified!
