1 in 3 people born in the UK this year will develop dementia in their lifetime. 1 million people in the UK will have dementia by 2025. However, there is no cure for Alzheimer's disease or any other type of dementia and dementia research is desperately underfunded.

My Granddad on my Mum’s side and my Grandma on my Dad’s have suffered for many years with dementia. Watching their deterioration has been a heartbreaking and helpless experience. I will be running the half marathon for Keith and Jill and anyone else who has suffered or known loved ones with dementia.
