Story
Sophie's Legacy is a charity honouring Sophie, who tragically lost her battle with cancer at the tender age of 10.
Driven by Sophie's vision for improved paediatric healthcare, Sophie's Legacy focuses on:
- Securing 7-day access to play specialists in hospitals.
- Enhancing meals for hospitalised children.
- Ensuring meals for parents staying with their children in hospital.
- Facilitating childhood cancer care training for healthcare professionals.
- Boosting funding for childhood cancer research.
Sophie's Legacy offers support to families in hospital through snack and toiletry boxes, prepared frozen meals, weekly pizza at Portsmouth Hospital, art programmes, and essential items packs.
Furthermore, we directly assist hospitals with necessary supplies, from washing powder for the NICU and new bedding to toys. We also mark occasions like Mother's and Father's Day, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas with gifts and activities.
In a further bid to advance this cause, a team of ten of us (and possibly a furry friend) are embarking on a fundraising walk from Havant to Reading. This journey spans approximately 60 miles, and we plan to complete it over two days, from Sunday, September 24th to Monday, September 25th.
Every single donation, no matter the amount, truly makes a difference in the lives of those Sophie's Legacy serve.
