Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Many of you who know me well will know that on 15th May 2012 my father, Dave Kilroy, passed away. He suffered from cardiomyopathy, a condition of the heart, which in his case we knew nothing about.
The condition is one of the most common causes of sudden death in athletes and young men. Cardiomyopathy is not a curable condition but if treated, those suffering can go on to live happy and fulfilling lives. The Cardiomyopathy Association offers support and advice to those suffering from the condition and to those, like myself and my family, who have sadly lost someone to it.
My Dad passed away suddenly and losing him like this has been a very difficult thing to come to terms with. Many other people may have to deal with this and I would like to help the charity that helps them understand.
My Dad was an enthusiastic body builder and weight lifter, committed to his health and to succeeding in everything that he put his mind too. Sean and I will be running for him next year, and we will make him proud.
He would definitely call us crazy for doing this and the thought of running so far might lead you to think the same thing but we are both committed to completing the run, raising money for our charity, The Cardiomyopathy Association and running in memory of my Dad.
Please help us both and make a donation today. We really appreciate the help!!
