People become homeless for a whole variety of reasons, it is seldom intended. I am delighted to be joining with business leaders from our region to sleep out on behalf of Durham cathedral and with your support to raise much needed funds.

Your generosity will enable local charities to support the growing numbers of people facing homelessness and unsuitable accommodation.

Over the years I have been involved in offering overnight accommodation to young people age 16-25 years, listening to their stories and recognising that each one is somebody's son, daughter, relative or friend and that every person is valued and special.

If you can spare a donation for those who will not know the comfort of a warm dry bed in a place they call home, safe and secure, I would be so grateful. The issues are enormous but we can help one life at a time.
