Story
I’m running the 2023 London Marathon for BHF as a charity extremely close to my heart , excuse the pun ❤️
At 19 years old I found myself waking up in resus in stepping hill hearing the words “heart condition and surgery”
My now husband watched me turn blue and stop breathing. I had been stood in my kitchen making breakfast on what I thought was a normal day and all of a sudden couldn’t breath, felt the worst chest pain imaginable and thought I was going to die. Fast forward 8 years, 3 operations down , uncountable days spent in hospital, 2 babies with pretty worrying pregnancies and enough heart medication to supply a small army and I’m able to live a pretty normal life due to the amazing support and medical procedures.None of this would have been possible without the research over the years.
I am due to undergo another round of ablation to try and help with my condition next year so this will be my last run for some time.
The BHF doesn’t just help with research to save lives but it also helps with support for you and your family when going through extremely difficult times when being diagnosed. The work this charity does is unbelievable and I personally have experienced that. Every penny really does count and can change a persons life. I know times are hard for everyone now but the smallest of donations really can make a difference
I will be completing the London Marathon for The British Heart foundation and also to show to my babies you can achieve anything you set your mind too. Running the London marathon has always been a dream of mine.
I will be fundraising over the next 5 months and hope to put on a fundraising themed night into the new year.
Thank you again for taking the time to read this ❤️
