Sophie's Run for Sarcoma UK

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2023 · 2 April 2023 ·
Hi,
Thank you for visiting my page!
I'm Sophie, and this April I'll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon to raise money for Sarcoma UK.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. Even now, it's not a word I hear often, but it is one that needs to be more widely known. Sarcoma UK is a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. As such, I'll be running the half marathon to support this wonderful charity and all of its' important work. By supporting me, we can help to create change. Each donation will help researchers find answers, keep Sarcoma UK's Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
The word 'Sarcoma' used to mean very little to me. Though when my dad was diagnosed with sarcoma in 2014, the word suddenly meant everything. Though my dad wasn't able to defeat the disease, he stayed hopeful until the end, and was always open to different treatments and therapies that might help him fight the disease. It's only with the continuous research and support provided by charities such as Sarcoma UK that this was possible. I hope that with our support, we can help Sarcoma UK to continue their essential research, support and efforts to raise awareness for other families touched by sarcoma.
Thank you so much for your support, I am so grateful!
Sophie xx
