Lockdown - Locks Away!?
Fundraising for Child Bereavement UK
Fundraising for Child Bereavement UK
Hi, my name is Sophie - thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am hoping to raise lots of money for Child Bereavement UK, a charity that supports families when a child grieves or a child dies.
Coronavirus has had a massive impact on all charities and their ability to raise funds. As a Bereavement Support Practitioner working for Child Bereavement UK I have seen first hand the huge impact their support has had on the children and families I work with. I hope to raise as much as I can at a time when the charity needs support now more than ever!
With the aim of trying to raise as much money as possible, I am splitting my fundraising up into three different tasks and planning a new 'lockdown look'. The higher the final fundraising total, the more extreme the final task I will complete!
1) If I raise anything up to £1000 by midnight on Friday 3rd July , I plan to dye my hair a crazy colour as a way of saying 'wild hair don't care' and sticking one finger up to coronavirus.
2) If I am able to raise between £1000 and £3000 I will get my first ever tattoo, a rainbow, in honour of our wonderful keyworker and frontline staff.
3) Finally, if I am able to reach or even exceed my £3000 target, I plan to take on the 'covhead challenge' and to shave my head entirely!!
This isn't something I am taking on lightly. I have a very love/hate relationship with my hair, and the thought of getting a tattoo fills me with dread, but I want to do something big for such a worthy and worthwhile cause.
The cut off date for Fundraising will be midnight on Friday 3rd July, as this will hopefully coincide with the first date of re-opening for tattoo parlours and hairdressers on the Saturday. Possibly a day of national celebration for many cavemen and women waiting to have a long awaited haircut!
I know this is a difficult time financially for everyone but if you can, please dig deep to help support this amazing charity and all the work they will continue to do in the face of these challenging times.
Thank you for your generous donations.
Sophie
