On 13th May myself and my wonderful team are taking on the Jurassic Coast 25k Challenge to raise funds that are so incredibly vital to the work that Young Lives vs Cancer does. 

Young Lives vs Cancer offer an array of support to children, young people and their families that are facing cancer now and in the future. Our amazingly dedicated Social Workers are there to offer support from the moment the doctor says ‘cancer’ and beyond. You can see this video of Sofyan’s story here, that shows the real impact our Social Workers have. We have 11 Homes from Home across the UK that are situated near to specialist cancer treatment centres, and enable families to stay together and not worry about the additional costs a cancer diagnosis brings.

In 2020-2021 Young Lives vs Cancer issued 215 financial grants in Newcastle to the total of £42,975, meaning parents are able to focus on the most important thing, their child.

With your help.... 

£10  could pay towards an hour of care from the team around a family, so that they have the emotional and financial support they need from Young Lives vs Cancer.  

£26  could pay for an hour of a Social Workers time. Whether they organise grants for the family or are there to offer a listening ear, our wonderfully dedicated Social workers are there from the moment a child or young person is diagnosed with cancer.     

£38 could pay for a family to stay overnight in one of Young Lives vs Cancer’s Homes from Home, providing free self-catering accommodation near to specialist children’s cancer treatment
centres, which are often many miles from a family’s own home.
