"If I look at the mass, I will never act, if I look at the one, I will" - Mother Theresa
Sickle Cell Disease affects millions of people worldwide and is one of the most common inherited blood disorders in the world. But looking at the huge numbers of people affected sadly doesn't always move us to act. I have chosen to raise money for the Sickle Cell Society for my husband - he's my one!
The Sickle Cell Society works hard to support and represent people affected by sickle cell disorder and to improve their overall quality of life. They provide services, information and support for anyone affected by sickle cell and I believe they are so vital. So many people have no clue what sickle cell is, and how it plays a part in individuals lives, despite living, working and breathing alongside those affected. I confess I was one of those 'many' before meeting Sola. But I urge you, don't wait to educate yourself and don't wait to support this worthy cause!
In September I will be completing, what looks like, a horrendous Tough Mudder obstacle course! This is totally out of my comfort zone and, with the upper body strength of a peanut, I'm not sure how I'm gonna do it - but I'm ready to give it my all! (Take a look at the Tough Mudder website for just how terrifying this is going to be :|)
Any support is such an encouragement to me, and my handsome hubs, and we so appreciate you all cheering me on!
All the love,
Sophs x
