Story
Hi everyone,
Next April, I will be taking on the challenge of running the 2023 London Marathon, in aid of Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice.
In February 2022, my wonderful Nanny was diagnosed with advanced Pancreatic Cancer. She fought bravely for 6 months, before passing away in July 2022. However, the time she spent at Greenwich and Bexley Community Hospice and the care they provided for her meant that she could be as comfortable as possible in her final months. As a family we are so grateful for the incredible care she received.
The hospice relies heavily on donations - they only receive around a third of their funding from the NHS. This means they need to raise £5 million every year to continue providing care for patients and their families.
They care for around 3,000 people every year living in the London Boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley, providing high-quality, compassionate care and support to people with all types of terminal illnesses, both at their hospice in Abbey Wood, South East London, and in the community.
Any donations will greatly appreciated, so we can ensure that more families like mine can continue to be supported.
Thank you!
Sophie xx
