Story
Under 3 weeks to go!! Training has reached 30km weekend long runs and is getting tough. Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported me this far.
Unfortunately I had to defer the London Marathon 2022 due to injury which was gutting but I am grateful to have had the option to defer. I am working on recovery at the moment and hopefully by Nov/Dec I can get back to running ready to start my marathon training plan in January with π₯
TAKE 2 here we come πββοΈ
For those that don't know, I began running three years ago and it has transformed the way I live my life. I have progressed from not being able to run a 5k without stopping, to now being able to race half marathons. I have now decided to take on the huge challenge of running the London Marathon... 26.2 miles... crazy I know! I am incredibly excited and scared but that is what fuels the fire!
When I began running I had no idea of the benefits it can have on your mental health. I have suffered with anxiety for many years and running has become therapy for me. Exercise is the one thing that gets my head back to a better place, it is my release and just in general exercise makes me happy.
And so it is that phrase 'Exercise makes me happy' that I am honoured to be running the London Marathon to raise money for Get Kids Going! a charity which gives disabled children and young people up to the age of 26 years the wonderful opportunity of participating in sport. They provide these children with specially built sports wheelchairs so they can do: athletics, snowboarding, fencing, table tennis and many more sports.
Get Kids Going! inspires disabled youngsters to compete in sporting events and it is with your kind donations that we can help turn their dreams into a reality and help make them into sporting heroes.
