We help the brain tumour community to feel less alone and more in control

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Our friend Katy Gurney is 31, and she has been fighting a high-grade brain tumour since June 2019. She needs to raise £200k for a new type of immunotherapy treatment being trialled. Her family are self funding the majority, she needs support to get the rest of the way. All the money we raise will go to Katy's treatment. Any excess funds will be kept by Brainstrust, helping others living through this disease.

There are so many requests for sponsorship for these sorts of minor sporting endeavours (though in our state of lockdown unfitness there is nothing minor about it to us). This is about Katy. If you knew her, you would love her. She is so fun, kind, brave - one of the good ones, take our word for it. She deserves your support.

On 1st May Katie Service and I will participate in a local triathlon. The swim is in a lake (think eels, think cold), the run is 5k steeply uphill through a field with cows that have charged walkers before, and the cycle is 20k.
