Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This page is in memory of my Aunty, Joyce Jobson who lost her battle to cancer in December 2017.
She was an amazing person who always saw the best in people, never complained and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Throughout her illness she showed incredible strength and positivity, no matter how bad things got.
When I started training for the Half Marathon just before Christmas, my intention was to use the opportunity to raise money for charity as well as challenge myself. I thought it would put too much pressure on me and I might not succeed so decided I would just run the race for me and next time do it for charity.
Last night I bumped into someone who asked me what charity I was running for, a little embarassed I said I wasn't running for one. He was shocked that I wasn't using the opportunity to fundraise for a good cause and pleaded with me to change my mind.
So here I am, with only 6 days before the race creating a JustGiving page asking you to take the time to read my short story and consider helping me raise money for this amazing charity.
Macmillan Nurses were there for Joyce in her last few days and I have experienced first hand the work they do when they helped care for my late Father In Law, Mark Lane Nokes in his last days too.
