Story
In May 2021, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma, an aggressive form which attacked multiple areas of my body.
I underwent 6 months of chemotherapy followed by a stem cell treatment. However, 5 months later I relapsed. Again I had 6 months of chemotherapy and then an invasive Donor Stem Cell Transplant from an unknown donor. Altogether, 18 months of treatment. I am now 2 1/2 years in remission!
My “Sole Sisters” who I will be walking with this May have been my support system through this. Being shoulders to lean on, my personal therapists, my emergency calls, and allowing me to live and laugh through it all.
Unfortunately when I was diagnosed, a lot of the Macmillan in person support was out of action following COVID-19. However, I reached out online and phone and received a lot of support regarding funding and grants and advice regarding living with cancer. The teams have always been so supportive and have helped post treatment too.
In May 2025, I have challenged myself to take on the Norfolk Coast Mighty Hike to help raise money for people living with cancer.
I'd be so grateful if you could help me reach my £250 pledge, which can pay for Macmillan Nurse for one day. This could provide people living with cancer and their families essential medical, practical and emotional support.
Thank you!
