Story
I will be cycling 78 miles (indoors) on the stationary bike throughout March for Team Doctors, covering the 78 mile journey from the RVI in Newcastle, to the GNAAS base in Langwathby and back to the HQ in Eaglescliffe.
Still recovering from my own illness, this activity was the most appropriate. Choosing this middle distance will certainly be a challenge, but where would be the fun if it wasn’t! 😄This is a great way for me to help build my own fitness and rehabilitation, whilst raising some much needed support for a deserving charity.
I'm taking part in the Race to the Base in support The Great North Air Ambulance Service which provides world-class, critical care across the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their doctor-led critical care team delivers life-saving treatments at the scene of an incident whether that is on a fell top, a roadside or in a city centre. The charity responded to over 1,600 emergency call-outs last year*, where they performed treatments and procedures which can mean the difference between life or death.*2021
