I am fundraising for The Phoenix Residence, because I want to be able to give back to the individuals we serve! They are people JUST like you. They deserve to be happy and not have to worry about anything besides living their best life!! This job can be difficult but is very rewarding at the same time. Not only do we provide for these individuals - they become a part of us, well at least in my opinion they do! When I was a DSP, I spent more time with the individuals than I did with my own family! It wasn't just a job to get me by, it was my second home away from home. I felt like I was needed by the individuals I helped and that is an experience I cannot fully explain! It is an incredible experience and something you would never forget. I want to help The Phoenix Residence Close the Gap because the individuals living in these homes deserve DSPs that are going to stay and not leave because they are not getting paid enough. We need to give these employees more of a competitive wage and benefits!
