Story
I have worked on the NICU in Sheffield since September 2019 as I work towards my nursing training. Over the last 18 months I have witnessed the amazing work done on the NICU and the staff who do amazing things for the sick and premature babies in Yorkshire.
One thing I have realised is that we have a wide variety of parents whose first language is not English. For these parents it can be hard to ask questions from medical professionals about their babies care without an interpreter present and also to be updated by staff as soon as possible due to needing to wait for in person interpretation services.
There is a service provided by language line which is an 'Intepreter on wheels' this is a digital portable service that gives 24/7 access to interpreters of all lcommon languages spoken in the UK including British sign language.
See link to the service provided below:

The NICU would benefit greatly from this equipment and service and I hope to raise money towards this by claiming Mount Snowden in Wales on the 7th August 2021, reaching the summit at sunrise, with three of my STH colleagues.
Thanks you so much for your donations and support 💜
