Story
We are Clare Morgan, Laura McDonald, Natalie Kirk, Becky Edwards, Andy Walls, Andy Wheeldon, James Lamb, James Atkinson, Pete Geoghegan, Phil Williams, Paul Smith, Alex Williams and Luke Simons and thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!
On the 1st of July, our team of at least 13 will be walking the 31 miles of canal between Birmingham and Worcester.
We are all walking in memory of Nigel Dean, and will be trying to raise as much money as we possibly can to donate to Acorns Children’s Hospice and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham in his name.
Starting from Gas Street Basin, Birmingham at 6am we will meander through rolling city and countryside for approximately 12-14 hours until we arrive at Diglis Basin, Worcester for a well-earned pint!
Fundraising events will be underway soon, but in the meantime we’ve set up a page for any donations at http://www.justgiving.com/smithsnewstowpathtribe. Anything you can give to help these great causes would be much appreciated by everyone.
If anyone would like to join us for the walk, you’d be very welcome! It should be a fun but challenging day for a good cause and the more people that we can get involved, hopefully the more we can raise together.
Please let us know if you want to get involved in any other way too and please ask if you want to know anything else about what we’re doing and why.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
