Story
In our experience, most people that we know, either have had cancer or know someone close to them battling this terrible illness. We know first hand watching Ben's parents getting cancer diagnosis at a young age that it can be a lonely, life changing event. We felt this specifically when we became caregivers to our Mom before she passed. Dealing with cancer, whether you're the patient, the family or the friend is never easy. That's why we chose to support Cancer Hope Network. As a company they know, to fight this illness, is best with a team of support. They provide 1:1 peer support for everyone who is involved in each individuals fight against cancer. We wish we had this support when we were caregivers, but now we want to share this wonderful organization with anyone who needs it. We want this event with Cancer Hope Network to raise you up, show that you aren't alone, and celebrate those who are fighting or who have battled with cancer.
For 40 years, Cancer Hope has been connecting cancer patients and caregivers with trained survivor mentors who provide support and guidance. Support Volunteers serve as mentors for patients going through treatment, provide practical suggestions to caregivers and create hope. The hope they create makes a difference! More than 90% of matched clients report that their match has definitely created hope. And, anecdotal reports tell us match visits encourage patients to continue with their treatments.
