Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page - Dig Deep!
We are peddleing to Paris to help The Guy Francis Bone Cancer Research Fund & The Sick Children's Trust in Leeds.
As Justgiving only lets you support one charity, we had already committed to supporting The Sick Children's Trust. However all monies raised above and beyond our total will be going to BCRT in memory of Guy. http://www.bonecancerresearch.org.uk/Stories_guyfrancis.shtml
Eckersley House provides a 'home from home' for families of sick children recieving treatment at St James's Hospital. After 16 years, Eckersley House is moving and we have decided to help their campaign 'The Big Move'. http://www.sickchildrenstrust.org/
The cycle takes place from 14 - 18 July 2010 and we have already started training (well, we've bought some cycling shorts and stabalisers!), we will keep you updated along the way so you can really see where your money is going - with your support we can smash this joint target of £2,600.
Here is our itinerary: Day 1: London to Calais = 95miles Day 2: Calais to Abberville = 75 miles Day 3: Abberville to Beauvais = 70 miles Day 4: Beauvais to Paris = 60 miles - wooohhoooooo! So there you have it, that’s what we are faced with – 300 miles on two wheels. However, we are faced with a challenge to which some families have no choice. The Sick Children’s Trust (SCT) believes no child should be separated from their family whilst receiving treatment in Hospital for serious and life limiting illness. The SCT provides a ‘Home from Home’ for families and their sick children to keep the family together as a unit during this difficult time. It is run entirely on voluntary donations and Laura and I feel we can do something to help our local ‘Home from Home’ at St James’s Hospital in Leeds. For those nearer to us, we will be hosting many fundraising events for you all to enjoy whilst raising monies towards this. Watch this space!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Help us peddle to Paris!
