Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In November 2013 I lost my father to pancreatic cancer, 6 weeks after diagnosis. I am taking on this challenge in memory of a loving husband, father and grandfather and to raise awareness, help early detection and ultimately improve survival rates for pancreatic cancer patients.
Forty years ago few children survived childhood leukaemia - the survival rate is now 80%.
Forty years ago only 46% of women diagnosed with breast cancer survived five years or more - that figure is now 80%.
Forty years ago 3% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survived five years or more. That figure is still 3%.
