Story
1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime.
All of us can play our part to help beat it and this year I’ll be taking on my first ever marathon to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK.
I am running for my Nan who has skin cancer and will be dedicating my 26.2 miles in memory of two inspiring individuals who sadly lost their battle with cancer this year. Firstly Jake, a friend, a colleague at GOSH and fellow fundraiser for charitable causes. And secondly, Dame Deborah James (a.k.a BowelBabe), who not only taught me at school, but the lesson of living life to the full and keeping rebellious hope in the face of adversity.
Working on a cancer ward and supporting my patients with their cancer journeys this year, I have seen Cancer Research UK's vital work in action and seen how much of a difference it has made. I have been so proud of how they have fought their diagnosis.
My marathon is a huge challenge and knowing that every pound raised will make a difference to help the fight against cancer, makes it all worthwhile.
I’d be grateful for any support because every penny counts!
Thank you and lots of love xxx
