Story

Save the eyesight of one Bangladeshi

650,000 people in Bangladesh are living with blindness due to cataracts, a completely treatable condition.

The Messenger (PBUH) said: Whoever brings ease to one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this life and the Hereafter.” (Sahih Muslim)

£60 - Provide vulnerable Bangladeshi with cataract surgery to prevent and reverse blindness.

In Bangladesh, 7.5% of people have a serious visual impairment, and almost one in ten people lives with complete blindness. Cataracts are responsible for between 50-80% of blindness in South East Asia. For just £60, you can restore the eyesight of a vulnerable person in Bangladesh. It’s a priceless gift, which the person you’re helping wouldn’t be able to afford without your help.

When a person is cured of cataracts, especially in communities with limited accessibility for the visually impaired, they not only have their eyesight restored, but they’re able to navigate their environment, earn a living, and care for their families. It provides ongoing benefits for the whole family for years to come.

We’ll also provide them with transport to and from the surgery, as well as medicine, food and accommodation during their treatment.

Our work in Bangladesh

Human Appeal has been working in Bangladesh since 2015. Last year, we supported street children and Rohingya families, installed clean water wells, and we helped vulnerable people to be resilient to hunger, winter weather, and COVID-19, helping a total of 55,830people in Bangladesh and Myanmar.

You can change the life and future of a vulnerable person.
