Story
On Saturday 8th September 2018, 10 members of the SmartSearch Client Services team and their partners, are braving the 24 miles and 5200ft ascent in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
We will take on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, in under 12 hours.
Why are we doing this?
Eden-Rose is a charismatic 6 year old little girl who loves elephants, Disney Princesses and anything pink, just like any other 6 year old, but unlike her friends she fights a battle everyday to stay healthy.
Eden-Rose has multiple diagnoses affecting most of the organs in her body. This has lead to countless surgeries, repeated prolonged hospital admission, daily procedures and medication to keep her well and at home.
You may ask what is wrong with her? But there isn't a simple answer like she has Cerebral Palsy or Down Syndrome. Eden-Rose has an undiagnosed genetic condition meaning she is a SWAN. SWAN stands for syndrome without a name.
Approximately 6,000 children like Eden-Rose, are born in the UK each year with a genetic condition so rare that it is often impossible to diagnose.
This creates a unique set of challenges and often leaves families feeling like they don't belong anywhere in terms of support. This is where SWAN steps in, creating a community and a place of belonging.
Having personally seen the positive impact of the support this charity provides for Eden-Rose and her mum and dad, we can't help but want to assist SWAN, so that they can continue to provide such a valued community and support network.
Any donation no matter how big or small will help massively, benefiting not just Eden-Rose and her family, but many other SWAN families as well.
Thank you for your support!
