Over the course of 2023 team SM5 will be carrying out various fundraising activities for the superb charity, Mates in Mind. 

We will be putting on events such as golf days and charity football matches but our most challenging and daunting task will be undertaking the 100km Ultra Jurassic Coast Challenge on the 13th & 14th May. 

The hike which will take the best part of 2 days starts at Corfe Castle ... taking on the rolling coastal hills until we hit Bridport. 

Mates in Mind is a fantastic UK based charity that raises awareness and addresses the stigma of poor mental health in the construction industry. They work with companies like SM5 to help us to promote and lead on the development of positive mental wellbeing on our sites and in our other places of work.

Two people working in construction in the UK will die by suicide every working day. Over 700 people per year. 

Mates in Mind supports us with guidance and clear information about the available support on mental health and wellbeing so we can share/promote this with our teams on site.

SM5 have partnered with Mates in Mind this year to help fundraise much needed funds so that they can continue to do the great work that they do. We also want to raise awareness of the charity to all of our friends, team members and the wider community and continue to remove the stigma of talking about your mental health struggles at work.
