Story
2018 is will be the penultimate year for the Sophie's Legacy organisation. We are getting organised for the "Return to Rome" as a big finale in 2019 but there is still much to do this year. There is a team of 10 entering the Full Mucker RatRace in May (http://ratrace.com/dirtyweekend2018/) and a limited number (so far just 1) running the Man vs Lakes adventure marathon in July (http://ratrace.com/manvslakes2018/)
Since Sophie died at Prospect Hospice in April 2008 the Sophie's Legacy team has raised ~£280,000 through some incredibly tough challenges but most importantly because of the fantastic support for those completing the challenges from you and your donations.
Every penny of the donations on this page go directly to Prospect and as you probably know they do an extraordinary job with the donations. Over 70% of the annual £8M needed to provide the care and support for almost 6,600 people (2016 - 2017 figures) must be raised through donations. For patients, there are teams of nurses, doctors and therapists, bringing care at the hospice in Wroughton, and in their own homes and care homes and through a palliative care team based at the Great Western Hospital. The in-home care was the particular service that Sophie herself was keen for Prospect to continue.
Thank you in advance for your generosity - we are all incredibly grateful
