Nicola's Skydive for Diabetes UK

Skydive for Diabetes UK · 9 July 2016
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was diagnosed with Diabetes in 1998. One week after my first birthday. It's now been 18 years since that first diagnosis of Diabetes and here I am still going strong. Diabetes has not stopped me from doing the things I want to or going to the places I want to.
Having Type 1 means your pancreas stops producing insulin and you have no control over the levels of glucose in your bloodstream. It's necessary to take insulin around 4 times a day and to test your blood at least 4 times a day.
There has been many struggles along the way as many people with diabetes will know there can be moments of ups and downs. With the help of my insulin pump my control has improved drastically.
Although I will always have diabetes I will never let it get me down and it will not stop me achieving the things I want to in life. By doing this skydive I can hopefully raise awareness diabetes and raise some money to give to Diabetes UK in the hopes that someday they will find a cure.
