Tree of Life for Animals (TOLFA) is an Indian animal charity, which was set up by an English veterinary nurse with the aim to improve the abject suffering of the thousands of stray animals residing on the streets.  Through their work they aim to provide rescue, treatment, care and rehabilitation to animals suffering from injury, disease, maltreatment or ill use and to help try and eradicate those diseases such as Rabies that can be transmitted between animals and humans.

I became aware of TOLFA’s work at the beginning of the year, and have been moved by the work carried out by their team of volunteers.  So much so that in November of this year I, together with Pauline Creegan, am due to visit Rajasthan and volunteer for the charity in a veterinary capacity for a 3 week period.

Prior to our departure I aim to raise funds for the charity as well as increase their profile within the UK, and am organising a charity skittle night at the Burton Bridge Inn, Burton on Trent on the 21^st May 2010.   There will be a raffle to run alongside the skittles and there are already some fabulous prizes to be had including a original piece of artwork by Lincoln based artist Sally Lidgett, meal vouchers, family tickets to Twycross zoo and a spa voucher for the staffordshire based company Sole Revival.

Those who are unable to attend the night can still be involved, and you can use this site as a way of remotely entering, or simply donating - please just let me know if you would like to enter the raffle by including details of how many tickets you would like on the message section of your donation - Tickets are £5 a strip (£1 each) - there's no limit!
