I like a bit of cycling. This much will come as no surprise.
I have never, ever worn pink bike kit. Ever. In fact I don't think i've really ever worn much pink! My kit drawer is a cacophony of black and white with a dash of red. Everything I wear always matches. Shoes, helmet, socks even my base layer which NO ONE CAN SEE. Even when I'm in between races I make sure my trainers and my trackie matches. Black, white, red. NO PINK. NEVER EVER PINK.
I also work for a breast cancer charity. Where there is LOTS of pink. In fact, we have a whole DAY of pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month - Wear it Pink day! More than just a colour and a bit of fun, Wear it Pink not only brings thousands and thousands of people around the country together to show support of women with breast cancer, it also raises a SHED load of cash for breast cancer research.
So. This year i shall Wear it Pink. And I shall Wear it Pink on my bicycle.
On Wear it Pink day, Oct 23 I will ride to work in full pink kit.
If I reach £100 in donations, I won't change out of my kit, I will stay in said PINK kit all day. Breaking the golden rule of only wearing bike kit when you're on a bike or near a bike.
If I reach £200 I'll go out on my Saturday ride in full pink kit. Emblazoning the lanes of Kent with a streak of magenta.
I might add some extra bonuses as I go along. I've already had the promise of a £50 donation if I go full pink, including shorts. *shudder*
