We care for children with shortened lives to support them and their families.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for bluebell wood childrens hospice.

On the 16th september my family will be doing the Bluebell wood big wellie walk around Clumber park, all funds raised go direct to the hospice so if you could sponsor us anything we;d be very greatful.

Bluebell Wood is a childrens hospice very close to out hearts, they do a wonderful job in supporting our family & caring for our daughter Lilly who is disabled and has many complex needs, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice offers care and support to children with a shortened life expectancy.

They support the whole family including siblings, both at the hospice site in North Anston, and in families’ own homes. There are only 40 children’s hospices in the whole country, so the area they look after covers all of South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North East Lincolnshire and parts of North Nottinghamshire.

The help they give to families depends entirely on their needs, but can cover:

  • Residential stays in the hospice, where a child can be looked after and mum and dad can have a break too
  • Day care services
  • Help in families’ own homes
  • Accompanying families to hospital visits
  • Looking after brothers and sisters
  • End of life care and support
  • Friendship, and a helping hand whenever it is needed

It costs £3 million every year to provide this service to families in the region, and Bluebell Wood receives no statutory government funding so they have to rely entirely on public donations, so PLEASE help.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now and help support other families and disabled/sick children in the area.

thankyou x
