Story
Imagine being a parent to a young child, husband and just 42 years old when you're told you have an incurable disease that will stay with you (as a nasty little sh1t of a disease) for the rest of your life?
That's what my best friend, John, was told. That was 5 years ago.
Recently he told me he wants to walk/run 100KM in one go (Via the Thames Path Challenge) to raise funds and awareness for the MS Society.
That's 62 miles! Or a good deal over 2 marathons - all in one go.
So I'm taking on that same challenge alongside him. We fight that unwelcome guest as a team.
But we need your help and support. Please sponsor us if you can. We know times have been really tough for people but just a few pounds will not only help the vital work the MS Society do, but it will also tell us you're with us - you're part of our team.
I have previous here! Nearly 6 years ago my sister and I walked from London to Brighton for charity, so I know how hard this challenge is (that one left me on crutches nursing damaged ligaments as well as shin splints)
I swore I would never do anything like that ever again. But here I am. Again. There is no way John is doing this alone (he'll probably get lost!) So back us however you can.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a neurological condition, meaning it affects your nerves. MS happens when your immune system attacks your nerves by mistake. It damages nerves in your brain and spinal cord.
We don't yet know how to cure it, at best we can help sufferers like John live with the it.
You can see John's story and his progress on how own Justgiving page too...
