This year I am raising money for a charity that is very close to my heart - Macmillan cancer care.  Macmillan is a fantastic charity that provides much needed emotional and practical help and support to anyone affected by cancer. 

As this is Olympic year, I thought it appropriate to take on a significant challenge, which is why I have decided to take on the Reading half marathon to raise money for Macmillan. 

Being a non-runner, this is a significant challenge!  I have already made a start on my training.  Having only completed a 5km race last year, 21km is an incredibly daunting prospect, but I'm willing to put in the hard miles.
