Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This summer I will be attempting to swim the English channel as part of a relay team to raise money for Aspire spinal cord injury charity.
As most of you know I love to swim outdoors and can be found most summers in water somewhere in the lake district, but what I dont love is the cold and can usually be found wearing a minimun of 5 layers at work!! To even qualify for a place on the boat I have to complete a 2 hour certified cold water sea swim in a swimming costume - no wetsuit, this will take place at the beginning of June in Dover. Its fair to say the training is going to be challenging to teach myself to endure the cold water for long periods of time and I will be using the winter temperatures of Lake Windermere 1-5 degrees in preparation.
Aspire are a charity who support those with spinal cord injuries reach independance. They do this through provision of specalist equipment, housing opportunities and helping those with injuries live fulfilling and inclusive lives.
So if you want to follow my training / suffering visit my blog SJPT Channel Challenge and to help support me and make this happen please give generously to this amazing charity.
