It's brilliant that you are giving to help us raise this money.  At St James's we have been part of the Westminster Winter Shelter for seven years and in December will start our eighth season.

Everyone who helps the shelter happen is a volunteer and across the 14 venues this means dozens of volunteers.  The money raised goes to the work of the West London Mission, a big part of which is to fund a part time overall coordinator who works with guests, brings them to the shelter,supports the coordinators and volunteers.  The shelters and coordinator mean that guests are kept safe in winter and  staff at the day centre, working with our guests,  are able to  help them move into accommodation.  Being able to come to the shelter in the dark,wet cold winter months is a place of acceptance, welcome and hospitality and helps build resilience and support when managing the processes involved in finding accommodation and work.  Being homeless is a transition and here at st James's offering hospitality and welcome is right at the centre of who we are.  Thank you for supporting us.
