Story
Over the last 3-weeks members and staff have been walking, running and cycling the equivalent distance of St John’s Chambers Bristol office to Mariinskyi Palace (the official residence of the Ukrainian President) in the centre of Kyiv.
So far, the team have covered 1,770km / 1100 miles and will be arriving in Kyiv early next week where we will have completed 2303.4km / 1431.26 miles.
We have set ourselves a £6,000 target which we hope to beat! All money raised will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee’s Ukraine Appeal.
We are also raising money through selling paracords in the Ukrainian colours (suggested minimum donation £3 each), and selling T-shirts. Please contact us if you would like to purchase any of these items.
We have already raised £445.40 from the sale of wristbands, and £487.50 from T Shirts.
Intense conflict in Ukraine is threatening the lives and livelihoods of civilians across the country, causing hundreds of thousands to flee. Homes have been destroyed or are unsafe to live in. Essential services have been hit. Families have been separated. People have been injured. Lives have been lost. DEC charities and their local partners are in Ukraine and across the border in the neighbouring countries. They are working to meet the immediate needs of all people fleeing with food, water, medical assistance, protection and trauma care.
