Story
Based in Carryduff, in excess of 30 volunteers in St. John Ambulance Headquarters Transport Division provide support to the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service emergency and non-emergency services as well as attending public events when they’re back!
During the Covid crisis our volunteers have stepped forward to assist in many ways including responding to calls for Emergency Ambulance Control and transporting Covid positive patients.
We currently operate four emergency frontline ambulances and one multi-purpose rapid response vehicle.. These vehicles are all equipped to the same standard as the statutory ambulance service.
Sadly our defibrillators are coming to the end of life and we need to buy new ones. Each defibrillator costs around £1,500 and we need 5 new ones. To raise funds, as a unit we’re going to walk 999km in June.
The unit is made up entirely of volunteers. Any donation, no matter how small, will help us to buy new life-saving defibrillators.
Every donation is greatly appreciated.
Thank you from all of the volunteers of St. John Ambulance Headquarters Transport Unit, Carryduff.
