Story
Aspire is a charity very close to my family’s heart. When my sister was 5 years old she was involved in a car accident that would change her life forever. The accident left her with life-changing, permanent spinal cord injuries and paralysed from the waist down. After spending months in hospital she began a long period of rehabilitation that has enabled her to live as normal a life as possible.
Therefore, despite never owning a bike or cycling on roads, I have decided to cycle 186 miles from London to Amsterdam to raise funds for Aspire. I will be cycling with my sister and other members of my family in the hope of raising 40,000 for Aspire.
Aspire provides specialist equipment needed to help with mobility and recovery from spinal cord injuries from injury to independence
For anyone suffering with an injury, Aspire was the first fully accessible fitness centre in Europe to open, back in 1983. It is now proud to say that over 32% of its members are disabled.
