On Monday 15th April, a dear husband, father, son, brother and friend passed away tragically and unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm. Situl was only 35 years old but had achieved more in his short time with us than many will in a lifetime. This page is in memory of him and the special person that he was.
Situl was a loving, devoted and caring husband to his wife Sejal; they were truly a magic, enchanting and complimentary couple. He was also a wonderful father to two beautiful children, Krish and Esha, who were the absolute world to him and the centre of his universe. Esha was Daddy’s little girl and Krish becomes more and more like Situl every day.
Situl was the leader of his family and a great son to his mum and dad and a role model to his sister Rakhee. He was also a wonderful son and brother to Sejal’s family as well, who immediately gelled with all of his new relatives. He was a source of wisdom, pride, advice and the heart of his family. He was always most happy when his family were happy.
Situl was an ambitious individual and a high achiever. From humble beginnings he propelled himself through life powered entirely by his love for his family and a desire to do well for himself. He went through university in the late 90’s and then rapidly built his career specialising in Internet Retailing. He had an exciting and colourful CV having worked at Playboy, Ann Summers, La Senza and Amazon and achieved a senior level of management most recently with Tesco.com. Situl was renown for always negotiating the best possible deal but still leaving everyone smiling at the end. His last project at work which he was particularly proud of, was a ‘magic mirror’ which enabled customer to try on new clothes virtually.
Situl was also known for his amazing ability to make friends wherever he went. We all have stories of how a simple 5 minute walk home with him would take 30 minutes as he would always make time to speak to or help people he met along the way. Those journeys reflect Situl’s attitude to life in general – spent devotedly to his family and helping and spending time with those he cared for - all served with an infectious dose of Situl laughter.
He was a man who loved life, family and the company of friends; truly a one in a million and an inspiration. We love and miss you Situl.
Situl always had time to help others, so this page has been set up to give help and support to people and families affected by brain injury. The Thakrar and Sonpal family would like to express heartfelt thanks to those that have donated to this cause and blessings to all those who wish to make Situl’s memory live on through fundraising to help others.
