Story
Welcome to the fifth fantastic year of the ass-kicking Sister Act Race for Life team! If you're just joining the party, here are the Cliffs Notes:
In 2008, cancer made the stupidest move of its heinous existence: it went after my mum. I was sixteen years old. Sophie was just twelve.
Obviously, no one warned it not to mess with a Glesca family.
Thanks to advances made by research funded by this very Race, we got to hang on to our mum. But having seen it take so many others, we decided we weren't done with it yet. We have spent the past four years wreaking havoc on cancer, in a journey that has featured a shed load of dancing, buckets full of tears, me dressed as Hit Girl, doughnuts with Fuck Cancer written on them and a little award for us being one of the best Justgiving fundraisers of 2014.
We're not going to stop until no mother has to sit down her children and tell them that she has cancer. Cancer, we're coming to get you.
Love, Fiona
