Story
On February 17, we lost Sir Eddie Kulukundis - the much loved philanthropist well known in the worlds of theatre and sport who had been living with dementia for over 10 years.
This page has been set up on behalf of Sir Eddie's wife of 40 years, Susan Kulukundis (actress Susan Hampshire), who is aiming to raise £1m in his memory to support the search for breakthrough dementia treatments.
Susan is asking people to consider a donation to Alzheimer’s Research UK, no matter how small or large, so in future others won’t have to face the same heartbreak from this cruel disease.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, dedicated to making life-changing breakthroughs in diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure.
All donations made in memory of Sir Eddie will support the vital work of the charity’s Drug Discovery Alliance (DDA) – a network of world-leading research Institutes focused on translating the very best research ideas into potential new dementia treatments as quickly as possible.
Combining a team of applied biologists and chemists with a wealth of industry know-how into the heart of three world-class universities – University College London, the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford – enables them to draw on the research brilliance of each Institution’s scientists and collaborators. The DDA is a unique enterprise in the dementia research field and one that will lead us to the treatments of tomorrow, sooner.
On behalf of Alzheimer’s Research UK and Susan, thank you for your support.
