Story
On Sunday 10th May I walked 21.2 miles up Nidderdale, from Ripley to Glasshouses and back via Brimham Rocks, to raise money for Myeloma UK. This was the equivalent of walking from Ripley to Northallerton with a lot more hills thrown in, and I did it in the creditable time of 7 hours, 20 minutes. Multiple Myeloma is cancer of the bone marrow. It is incurable and kills 4,800 people a year in the UK. Average life expectancy from diagnosis is 5 years and the latter stages are pretty awful, even by cancer's abysmal standards. Myeloma UK is a small, efficient and highly effective Edinburgh based charity and is doing a fantastic job. All donations will be gratefully received.
