Story
My dad died in the Southern Area Hospice on October 20th 2014 after suffering from prostate cancer since Feb 2013. During his illness he spent a significant amount of time in the hospice as we were unable to control his pain at home.
The care he received from the team of nurses, doctors, physios, chaplains, social workers, occupational therapists and support workers was outstanding. We were welcome day or night and they cared for the entire family right until the end. The hospice relies on fundraising to keep their doors open and to support patients with terminal illnesses in the entire Southern health board.
So... Last seen in 1991 as per photo!! don't laugh, Eugene, Brian and Sean are growing a moustache for Movember to raise awareness of men's cancers and to raise money for the hospice. Even £1 is welcome and it all helps. Eugene is hoping for Dick Strawbridge personally I'm more in favour of Tom Selleck!! I'm not sure who Brian's moustache idol is, looking a bit Burt Reynolds to me though!
I never fully understood before what went on in the hospice but now we as a family are committed supporters. Thank you for helping daddy die peacefully.
