Event: Hackney Half Marathon 2021, on 26 September 2021
In memory of James M Coffey
Runners from around the community are taking to the streets of Hackney to run the Hackney Half Marathon and raise money for life-changing mental health services!

Story

On the 30th July 2021, it marked ten years since my lovely dad left us. To honour his life - and some of his struggles - I'm marking this anniversary by running the Hackney half marathon and raising money for my local mental health charity: - Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest.

The run is on the 26th September and training is well underway. I'm currently up to 8 miles (as of 1st August) so I have a good bit to go yet. I'm not a natural runner so a half marathon will be a good challenge.

I'm deeply grateful for any and all support received.

We won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect. We challenge discrimination and provide local expert services so no one has to face a mental health problem alone. Help us shape the future of mental health.
