Story
Thank you so for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As most of you know, we have been doing triathlon's for quite some time now and this year we thought we would bite the bullet and attempt a big challenge.
On the 7th August we are taking part in Iron Man Regensburg in Germany. Iron man is an endurance triathlon consisting of 3.8K (2.4 mile) swim, a 180K (112mile) cycle followed by a 42K (26mile) run. We have to complete this within 16 hours - otherwise we will be pulled out of the race. As you can imagine this is a daunting prospect and apart from being in the right physical shape on the day, nutrition and hydration are really important and if we get these wrong, it is highly likely we won't not finish. Training has been gruelling and has involved 30 weeks of preparation which has included 5.30am wake up calls and a severe lack of social life.
We are raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and would really appreciate it if you donate a little something to this cause. Macmillan improves the lives of people affected by cancer by providing practical, emotional and financial support. One in three people are affected by cancer and we are doing this race in the memory of Siobhan's mum who was a victim of cancer and had her life cut short by the disease.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please help us raise money for this Macmillan so they can continue to help people deal with the affects of cancer.
