Story

Thanks for visiting my page.

I lost my Aunt( My mum's sister) on 2nd September 2021. Unfortunately due to Covid 19 we were not able to travel and say goodbye. My mum was not able to say goodbye to her own sister.

My aunt was an amazing woman who had 3 children of her own and lost them shortly after they were born. She then did a beautiful thing and adopted my cousin from an orphanage home in Sri Lanka.

To honour her name I would like to raise money so that we can support disadvantaged, abandoned and orphaned children in Sri Lanka.

I am raising funds to support Children's home in Sri Lanka run by IAHV.IAHV supports 2 homes in Sri Lanka for disadvantaged, abandoned or orphaned children.Wellawaya children home (South Central), Sri Lanka was founded after the Tsunami. IAHV also run a girls home in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. The ethos of the homes is to provide a caring, secure, value based home environment for the children to grow up in. The children attend the local schools and are given all support needed to do well in their education and prepare for life in the community. They are encouraged to help each other, learn useful vocational skills such as computing, and English. They also learn meditation practice, and the benefits of yoga.IAHV's mission and vision is to expand the homes to be able to provide a secure home for many more children. We also need funds to support their continuing education.

Thank you for your generosity and support💜

About the charity

The International Association for Human Values (IAHV) was founded in Geneva in 1997, to foster, on a global scale, deeper understanding of the values that unite us as a human community. Our aim is to promote an awareness of the importance of human values, encourage their development, and to initiate and support projects in the UK and throughout the world that meet the fundamental objectives of the IAHV organisation in Human Values (and which meet our criteria).
