Sing for Water Pop Up Project - Summer Rehearsals
Founded by Xenia Davis of Making Music, in 2016, for four years the Pop Ups have been a wonderful way for singers to meet, sing and fundraise together. Last year we went virtual and this year we hope to be able to sing together in person again.
Thankyou so much for your support - every note sung and penny raised makes a difference.
Please Note:
Rehearsal Schedule
July 27th - Thina Simunye, Let Love Rain Down
Aug 10th - Magnificence, Beyond the Sea
Aug 24th - Rapids Charm, Tsmindao Gmerto
Sept 7th - Hlonolofatsa
Fundraising - Each singer is required to raise a minimum of £50 each in sponsorship to take part in Sing for Water. This fundraising is separate to any donation made for these rehearsals. All funds raised help bring lifesaving water to people in need. If people drop out this impacts on our fundraising so please let us know if for any reason you cannot make it so we can fill your place. About Sing For Water London
Sing for Water was initiated by Helen Chadwick and the Thames Festival Trust to raise money for WaterAid in 2002. This year we are celebrating our 20 year anniversary, with the combined efforts of nationwide events raising over £1 million for WaterAid’s lifesaving projects.
About WaterAid - Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene should be a normal part of everyone’s daily life. Without all three, people can’t live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good. With clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene, children are born healthier. They get the chance to go to school and grow up to become adults. Women and men get to earn a living. Whole communities start to thrive. It sounds normal and it should be.
Covid-19 has been devastating for communities without clean water and sanitation, so it is really important we continue to support WaterAid at this challenging time
