Tony's Lands end to John O Groats
Fundraising for Breast Cancer UK
Story
In September 2022, I will be cycling almost 1000 miles (1660km), in 9 days, from Lands’ End to John O Groats. To dedicate this ride, I am raising money for a charity that is close to my heart ‘Breast Cancer UK.’ My youngest sister Jamie, a mother of four young children, passed away in 2007 from breast cancer. Jamie was only 42 years old.
To commemorate Jamie’s 10th anniversary in 2017, I was planning to train for an event, but I was diagnosed with septicaemia and was in hospital for 10 days. I was lucky to have recovered but I was on medication all throughout 2018 so only started training again in 2019 to regain my fitness. As soon as I felt ready to compete again, COVID happened so I waited until it was safe enough to compete again, and what a better year for the finish line to fall on my 60th Birthday!
This will be one of, if not the hardest challenge I will face, so I'm hoping I can get as much support as I can to power me through the 9 days!

為了令這次騎行更有意義，我願意幫一個我至為關心的慈善機構" Breast Cancer UK "籌款。
Jamie 是我最小的妹妹，亦是4個孩子的媽媽。她在2007年因乳腺癌去世，享年42歲。
在2017年間，正是妹妹Jamie 逝世10週年。特發其想要為紀念她的離去而做點事，當時就選擇了這活動，亦計劃和安排了一系列訓練。
但好不幸，我得了敗血病，在醫院治療了10天，我挺過來了但亦需服藥足12個月，體能也因此有所下降。
到2019年，身體逐漸恢復，也重新踏上訓練的安排，當一切準備就緒時，新冠疫情全球爆發，伴隨著所有活動叫停。
終於今年有望，而活動完成當天正好是我步入耳順之年（60歲）的第一天，也加添這次的意義。
對我而言，這是一個嚴峻的挑戰，我非常希望得到你們莫大的支持和鼓勵。
這9天會因為有你們的支持而賜予我力量。
